Letter From Membership Vice President

My name is Danielle Zayco, and I am the Membership Vice President here at the Iota Epsilon chapter of Alpha Xi Delta here at University of Nevada, Las Vegas!

I went through formal recruitment in the Fall of 2019, and fell in love with the process in an instant. It’s because of this, that I decided to be a part of the membership team for the last two years to fully immerse myself in the process. The last two years have been spent meeting people through a screen, and I am so excited to see every single one of you in person this upcoming fall!

Before going through recruitment, I was a quiet, shy girl from an island thousands of miles away, and didn’t ever imagine that I could be part of sorority. I had doubted myself all the way until that weekend in 2019. I can truly say that my growth started then, where I was pushed out of my shell and encouraged to be myself. I enjoyed every conversation, and each one has helped me to realize what I wanted and needed, and brought me home to Alpha Xi Delta. I can only hope that if and when you do go through this process, that it will do the same for you.

There will be many cliche’s that will be said through out the entire weekend. But I must say that my favorite one, and probably the truest one is this: trust the process. Recruitment is the weekend of transformation, of making a decision that will change your life for the better. Go into it with an open mind, heart, and just be your truest self.
